On 1st July 2020 as a part of the Fin&Tech Community 2020 online event an INFINITECH webinar titled “Fintech & Insurtech cases studies on Big Data, IoT and AI : focus on technologies that are changing Digital Finance in Europe” took place which aimed to present business cases in the financial and insurance sector based on the H2020 project INFINITECH.

In March 2018 the European Commission adopted an action plan on FinTech to foster a more competitive and innovative European financial sector.The number of companies deploying Big Data is expected to double in the near future, exceeding the implementation rate of other “hot” technologies such as data visualization and process automation. The world of finance as we know is changing thanks to FinTech and through technologies as Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. Fintech and Insurtech are analyzing large amounts of data, regulatory datasets, real-time transactions and more in order to improve delivery of new financial services.

The webinar hosted Pierre-Paul Sondag, project officer of the European Commision (EC), who presented how digital finance is strategic for the EC. Following was a 50 minutes presentation of the innovative solutions provided by Big Data, Iot and AI developed by INFINITECH by the project partners, Ernesto Ettore Troiano, a senior manager working as an interim manager in the Italian Client EU Unit of GFT Italia and managing Research & Innovation projects in the FinTech sector, and Jose Gato, Associate Head of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics unit in Atos Research & Innovation (ARI) and the Pilots Lead in INFINITECH.
