New study: Artificial intelligence and the rights of older people

Students from the University of Ljubljana (SI) and the University of Nova Gorica (SI), under the supervision of Dr Marusa T. Veber (Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana) and Dr Matej Kovačič (IRCAI & JSI), carried out their study projects on the use of AI and the rights of older people. The students sought answers to important questions such as: How can AI-powered technology be made more accessible to older people? How can AI contribute to the health and well-being of older people? What ethical considerations arise when using AI in their daily lives?

The aim of this study is to explore the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the human rights of older people. While AI has the potential to improve the lives of older people by improving healthcare and promoting independence, it also raises concerns about privacy, algorithmic bias and digital exclusion.
